CNC MANUFACTURING
Computer-Aided Product Realization focused on creating projects using Haas VF-1 CNC mills. We stepped through the design process from CAD to CAM to actually operating the machines, including various fixturing methods. See below for projects and process pictures.
FINAL PROJECT: STACKING PLANT STAKES
For my final project I designed a set of three stakes to allow plant pots to stack, conserving desk space. I machined the parts out of one piece of aluminum in two steps. I first machined the profile, leaving a cavity in the material. I then filled the cavity with wax to hold the parts in place while I faced off the back. Finally, I melted out the wax to reveal the finished product.
MAZE DESIGN: LAVENDER
Our first project was to create a maze using a square piece of aluminum, a bearing, and an acrylic cover.
